Monday Night Process Group

When: Every Monday, 6:15-7:45 pm

Where: Virtual

Cost: $65 per session

This process group for adults provides members with a container for understanding how they relate to others, increasing self-awareness and insights. Unlike individual therapy, group therapy provides individuals with a laboratory for understanding how they relate to a community of peers while deepening interpersonal skills. Topics range from working through career challenges, relationships, and family interactions among other material. Group therapy can also be an affordable avenue for developing inner resources.

Group facilitator, Sally Mayo, has been with Therapy Austin since 2018. Prior to that, she practiced group facilitation with teams at technology organizations, leading them through collaborative decision-making processes and team building. A self-described neuroscience nerd, Sally is committed to understanding how personal biology influences our experiences and increases self-acceptance. In addition to a Master’s degree in counseling from St. Edward’s University, she has a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University, and a Master’s degree in business also from St. Edward’s.

Neurodivergent DBT Skills Group

When: Starting This Fall

Where: Therapy Austin Highland Location

Cost: $65 per session

This is an 8-Week, in-person DBT skills training group catered toward neurodivergent individuals. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment modality for folks that experience emotions very intensely. Our group will focus on teaching and practicing the four main DBT skills of Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Emotion Regulation. These skills are not always presented in a neurodivergent-friendly manner, can be difficult for individuals to implement, or require accommodations to typical DBT curriculum. We hope to create a space that considers this reality and actively works towards more inclusive learning. If you identify as neurodivergent, have trouble with anxiety, depression, or managing difficult emotions, this group is for you!’

This group will be led by two Fully-Licensed Senior Counselors.

Andrew Waller-De La Rosa (he/him) specializes in issues related to neurodivergence, including ADHD and Autism. His general therapeutic approach is rooted in depth psychology, existentialism, and biopsychosocial models, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Bryna Dye (she/her) lives in a neuro-spicy brain and is experienced in teaching DBT skills. Her therapeutic approach focuses on mindfulness, here-and-now coping skills, and deep self-compassion to support more ease and joy in life. She has extensive training in Systems Centered Therapy and the neurobiology of emotions.
